First, I had to wait 10 minutes while the previous customer tried to get their business done, as the supposed post master had no clue what to do. Finally it was my turn. I had put both items in one box for ease of carrying and in case this corner shop post office complained that they couldn't do the packing, but it was unsealed. The man first asked me for the items, then immediately demanded to scan my bar code while I was trying to get the items out. He managed to scan the first bar code and he indicated it was done. I handed that item to him. The second bar code seemed to come up with some error. All this time he and his (wife?) kept on loudly and excitedly telling me I shouldn't have packed the items "Amazon instructions are very clear". He then asked to scan the first item again and I tried to explain he had already told me it was done, but he started raising his voice over me repeating his litany about Amazon instructions. Each time I tried to get him - both of them - to calm down and listen to me, they were getting more and more agitated and eventually said "Take it to another post office." There just was no reasoning with these people.

How do I deposit a cheque at Post Office?
To deposit a cheque, you’ll need to bring the following to your nearest branch:
*The cheque
*A completed deposit slip from your bank, if applicable. Please contact your bank to request paying-in slips as these are not held in Post Office branches
*A cheque deposit envelope for your bank (these are available from your own bank or the majority are stocked in Post Office branches)
Please do not enclose cash. Full instructions can be found on the cheque deposit envelope.
Simply hand over your sealed cheque deposit envelope to the Post Office who will provide you with a receipt for your cheque deposit envelope.
Why did my Post Office refuse to issue change?
If you’ve registered for the Change Giving service, you shouldn’t be refused change at your nominated Post Office branch.
You may have been refused if you’re not signed up to this service. If you’d like to do so, contact your bank directly to find out whether they offer the service and how to sign up.
If you’ve signed up but aren’t using your nominated branch, it’s at that branch’s discretion whether they have enough change available to fulfil your request.
