I’ve now had two negative experiences at this branch, both involving the newsagent owner. On both occasions, I attended to return an Amazon parcel and followed the instructions given. I paused briefly to process what was being said and carry out the steps correctly, without responding verbally or behaving disruptively. Despite this, I was repeatedly accused of having an “attitude problem” and told I was doing something wrong, when I wasn’t. During the second visit, after being repeatedly criticised and mischaracterised despite complying throughout, the situation escalated and I did raise my voice out of frustration. However, this came after multiple unwarranted accusations and a lack of willingness to listen. I have since noticed other reviews describing similar experiences, which is concerning and suggests this may not be an isolated incident. It is not appropriate to make assumptions about a customer’s attitude or body language, particularly when they are simply trying to follow instructions. Customers should be able to use basic services without being wrongly criticised or provoked. I will also be raising this directly with the Post Office, as this falls below the standard expected of a customer-facing service.

I had to drop a dpd return parcel as per the return instructions from kitchenaid. I visited the post office shop yesterday but was told I was late and will not be accepted. Fair point. I had shown the parcel to the person at counter. Today I visited well within the drop off time and was told parcel is big and dpd will come tomorrow and they don’t have space. So i should come tomorrow. I had to tell the counter person that I am dropping within time and as per the list of drop off points for dpd. Had to persuade that chap to accept the parcel. Dpd should penalise this shop for being very unhelpful. And owner of the post office should fire the counter clerk and relinquish the franchise if they cannot help. There was another lady with an international post parcel who was sent back by the same person.

An absolute mess of a place. Getting your package delivered there is like playing roulette.

Please avoid this post office at all costs. I’ve had repeated issues here - they often claim to have “run out” of second class stamps, forcing customers to pay first class instead. More seriously, I sent a tracked large letter from this branch containing important personal documents and tracking still shows it was never received by Royal Mail. When I returned with proof of postage to ask if they could check, the manager was dismissive, refused to look and even became aggressive when I said I would complain. I was shouted at, waved out of the shop, and laughed about in-front of other customers. Completely unprofessional and very concerning given the importance of postal services. Please avoid this shop at all costs, as the staff are horrible to customers.
