The staff at this post office are the best in the area. I honestly drive past 4 post offices to get to this one, as the ladies are always so nice, particularly Dawn and Jayne. I had a quick count on Google maps, there are NINE closer post offices, but Quedgley is still the one I'll choose go to.
They are polite, kind, knowledgeable, and chatty. This branch does evri and other non royal mail delivery services too. So if you need to return something from eBay, and all you've got is a QR code, these folks often recognise which brand that code is for, and will take care of it. They also are pet friendly, and sometimes have dog treats for good pups on the counter, my late dog used to like it here, even though she preferred a warm smile or a head rub over the treats.
It's part of a big Tesco building, but a separate door, with no access from the supermarket. I like that it's separate, so I don't get distracted by things I don't want to buy, or have to walk further. There is almost always a queue here, but this is because, I suspect, other customers might also be traveling the extra distance to come to the better post office too.
Avoid school run times for less of a queue, between 3.30 and 5pm I find it the busiest. It's just by the disabled parking, which I love as a blue badge holder, especially if I have a couple of parcels. (And they don't tut at you for having a few parcels either, which some other shops do!) If it's a big queue, pop in the nearby Costa for a takeaway drink to enjoy whilst waiting.
They do the usual post office things too, like forms for passports, drivers licenses, tax, as well as foreign currency exchange, and they sell a few basic postage bits like envelopes and sticky tape.
They are chatty, but chat while actually serving you, rather than afterwards, so they aren't actually delaying you as some reviews suggest.
