I'd leave this post office branch no stars if I could. Poor service and unacceptable treatment of vulnerable customers, unprofessional, dismissive staff with no manners, common courtesy let alone customer service. Terrible behaviour exposing their terrible upbringing which reflects very badly on them. I'd urge everybody to stand up for fellow customers if they see any mistreatment by the staff towards customers, we are all customers, united and that's the right thing to do. Report the staff and post office to Trading Standards, EASS, the MP and other authorities. I witnessed very concerning behaviour at the Cranbrook Road Post Office, 126 Cranbrook Road, Ilford IG1 4LZ. I witnessed an Asian male staff member treat an older, vulnerable female customer in a rude, patronising, and dismissive manner. The staff at this post office are extremely rude, they must have miserable lives and terrible upbringing to turn out the way they have. On the day, a male staff member at the post office cashier at the back on the left side as you queue up, treated an elderly vulnerable customer in a rude, dismissive, and patronising manner. No customer should be treated that way let alone vulnerable, older customers. Any decent person and organisation knows this and values customers. He gave incorrect information about documents, refused to properly review them, raised his voice and rushed the customer. This behaviour appears to be part of a recurring pattern, particularly affecting elderly and vulnerable customers and the community all is aware of talks about the lack of manners, education, customer service at this branch full of rude staff that do not know how to speak to customers. They have a bad reputation for this in the whole area and many people from other areas are also aware and appalled at it. There was also another male staff that was rushing past customers, without any duty of care to people that may fall, which is also a health and safety concern. The staff member: - Provided incorrect information about documentation - Refused to properly review documents when pointed out or apologise, instead was increasingly rude - Raised his voice and made dismissive remarks - Terrible and unacceptable tone, attitude and behaviour that is gross misconduct - Rushed the customer when that is not customers responsibility or issue and failed to provide clear guidance This is not an isolated incident. Similar behaviour has been observed consistently at this branch, with all customers and particularly affecting elderly and vulnerable customers. The conduct is unprofessional, intimidating, and undermines confidence in the service. A formal complaint has been submitted to the Post Office and escalated to Trading Standards (Citizens Advice), the Equality Advisory Support Service and other authorities. The branch urgently needs to address staff conduct and ensure professional, respectful service for all customers. We as customers are united and if any customer is mistreated in any other way we will step in and also report it. The Post Office as an organisation and the head and office needs to address these issues immediately and seriously and ensure staff and branches associated with them provide professional, respectful and competent service and remove association with those that do not or that commit misconduct against customers who are the ones that fund the profits of the organisation and the staff's wages, to provide respectful service not for them to be abusive, otherwise customers will choose alternative businesses with staff with good upbringing and conduct, which are basic facts they can't understand.

I’ve been to this post office twice, and both times he quoted me prices that were much higher than what I found online. The first time, he tried to charge me £72, but I found the same service on the Royal Mail website for £21. Another time, he quoted £9, while Royal Mail listed it as £3.65 for the same service. He's a scammer. It feels like he’s overcharging people to make extra money. I’m not sure whether he’s actually allowed to do this. He also charges £1 just to print the label, even though printing is free in most places. Is this legal?

Absolutely horrific experience every time I visit this place, I mean the smiling staff is something you dream for, they don’t even bother to answer your hello on the till they are not serving. Atleast, they can say hello back and tell the customer that this till isn’t serving. I understand customer service becomes hectic sometimes and it’s difficult to keep a positive attitude all the time but I’m a resident and I have visited multiple times, the issue remains the same. I just wish if they could be a little polite. Thanks

Very disappointed with this Post Office. I’ve been to this branch 3–4 times, and every time I’ve been overcharged. A stamp that clearly says £1 is sold to me for £3. When I asked why, the staff simply said, “That’s what we do,” with no proper explanation. I also paid to change the address on my log book — a service that costs £25 — but I was charged £28–£29, and then told I had to pay an additional £7–£9 for normal delivery. Again, when I questioned the cost, they didn’t explain it properly. It’s obvious they are adding £2–£4 extra on almost everything. The attitude of the staff is very rude and unhelpful. No respect for customers, no transparency in pricing. They just charge whatever they want and brush off any questions. Really bad service — I would not recommend this place to anyone.
