I was told last week that I couldn't use a commemorative stamp to post a letter and that I had to use a stamp with a barcode - even though the Royal Mail website says that you can still use commemorative stamps and there are no plans to discontinue them. When I told them this, the assistant got her boss to back her up and tell me the wrong thing again. They then refused to give me a certificate of posting for a letter, telling me to use a letterbox in the street. Post Office staff need to know what they're doing to give people confidence that they're using the service properly, and these guys did not.
