Stayed for 3 days here.. Location is great but rooms were too small but for the expensive price ..there was no fridge, microwave either.. Breakfast is ok..Staff in the reception during check-in was not helpful at all..We took a 7 hr flight and arrived around 11 am we were very tired and exhausted ..when requested for early check-in he said room is not ready yet that's understandable but he neither looked for any other rooms which were available nor checked with housekeeping staff to make sure that they clean the room ASAP ..I have stayed lot of hotels and in lot of countries so I know when they are genuinely trying to help or not .I later seen for some others they looked and gave them other rooms when their room was not ready so I guess it's up to the person in the reception area I think. But overall not at all a great experience.I did not expect this from a branded chain of hotels like Holiday Inn.

Lovely, very clean hotel, with a great view of the city, in a great location, just a short walk from the bus station and close to the supermarket, as well as other shops and places for lunch or dinner.
Breakfast was good (mainly English breakfast but also including yoghurt, fruits, bread, croissant etc) and had everything we needed to start the day. We also really appreciated the grab-and-go option for mornings when we were in a hurry or wanted to head out early.
We had a very comfortable stay and would happily come back.
(the only thing missing was a refrigerator in the room)

We chose this hotel because it was a familiar name and it's pretty easy to get to from the airport. It did what it was supposed to do it was a comfy stay, the staff was nice and the room was clean. The beds were comfy and the curtains blocked out light if you closed them. Our view from the room was also amazing.
Some pros ✅
- Location. You're right across from a shopping center and there are three grocery stores. If you need snacks or a pastry even a meal you have options.
- Proximity. We walked everywhere. If you have the threshold for walking you'll get a ton of steps and see the entire city. There's a map in the lobby with all the city's attractions and you're not too far from City Centre. We easily walked 10-15 miles per day. Airport is pretty close too.
- Public Transit. Lots of access to Uber, busses and trains and it's not too expensive. Most we spent was £12.
Some Cons 🚫
These aren't so much flaws as much as they are minor inconveniences. If we were coming back to Edinburgh we would 100% consider this hotel again. The only reason we'd stay elsewhere is to experience something different. In saying that...
- The breakfast. I don't want to be that guy because we chose the hotel for the free breakfast but after day 3 I couldn't eat anymore of it. If they rotated 1-2 main items per day it would help significantly. It's definitely a heavy breakfast, additional lighter items would have been nice.
- The staff. They're very nice. They were not that helpful when it came to navigating the city. I asked a few times for directions or specifics about different sites and one response was Google it the others were "I don't know." Not a deal breaker by any means but part of traveling is getting insight from the locals. We figured out what we needed to it just took a little extra effort.
- Lack of Microwave or Fridge. Perhaps it's the American in me but I expected one or the other in the room. I felt less bad when I heard others downstairs also ask. They don't have a microwave on site and our room didn't have a fridge. If I had to pick, put fridges in the rooms. With the grocery stores so close having the ability to store cold snacks would have been much easier. Anytime we wanted something we just had to walk across the street. Not a problem just inconvenient.
I gave the rating as many 5s as I could. The overall is a 4 for the reasons above. I would absolutely recommend staying here but maybe not for a week. We had 5 nights here. 3 might be the limit.
