- SBSusanne BrownJul 1, 20261.0I was extremely shocked & disappointed by the level of customer service I received from this local post office counter. The woman with the short grey hair who was wearing a football strip with no name badge made an error while processing my transaction as she was in such a hurry to close. She persisted to insist I must take the printed error which I refused she then continually tried to attach the label to my parcel even though it was wrong. She became very threatening, dismissive & rather than acknowledging and correcting HER mistake, she refused to continue serving me she put a sign up & walked about saying good bye I am now closed smirking & chatting to herself. She also refused to take any cash so I had to carry the cash deposit until next day from business takings even though the post office was still open at 5.25. Her attitude was dismissive, unhelpful, flustered and unprofessional throughout the interaction. Everyone can make mistakes, but what matters is how they are handled. Refusing to assist a customer & verbally attacking them after making an error is unacceptable and left me feeling frustrated and embarrassed as she flung my parcel back via hatch as I made it clear it wasn’t what was asked for. I didn’t expect to be treated in such a disrespectful manner even when I asked for complaints number as post office was still open. She then proceeded to chat to a male customer about me who she knew by name he then verbally attacked myself while she stood grinning in background. A single female customer walking in to a local post office to be verbally attacked by counter staff & an elderly male yob. This is not normal behaviour & should be frowned upon by the Post Office. I need to use the post office for business reasons but it most certainly won’t be this shop as that staff member needs retrained or her P45. The Post Office reply equally disappointed me as a customer as it was as dismissive & gaslighting as their counter staff.

*A cheque deposit envelope for your bank (these are available from your own bank or the majority are stocked in Post Office branches)
Please do not enclose cash. Full instructions can be found on the cheque deposit envelope.
Simply hand over your sealed cheque deposit envelope to the Post Office who will provide you with a receipt for your cheque deposit envelope.
Why did my Post Office refuse to issue change?
If you’ve registered for the Change Giving service, you shouldn’t be refused change at your nominated Post Office branch.
You may have been refused if you’re not signed up to this service. If you’d like to do so, contact your bank directly to find out whether they offer the service and how to sign up.
If you’ve signed up but aren’t using your nominated branch, it’s at that branch’s discretion whether they have enough change available to fulfil your request.
