  Terrible place everytime I try to go in there it’s queuing out the door it’s an absolute waste of time driving down there , your better off making the drive out elsewhere they only ever have 1 or 2 people at the counter when there’s space for 4 or more it’s ridiculous the staff don’t care either they seem to take as long as possible with each customer instead of getting threw them fast they’d rather stand and have a 5 minute conversation !!!!!!

  My nearest post office in Two dales was closed this week so I tried Matlock and I took my parcels there (roughly 30 parcels). I have a drop and go account and I spend hundreds of pounds a week with the PO. I had 3 bag loads and as soon as I mentioned I was here to use the drop and go system and introduce myself, a lady behind the desk basically stopped me in my tracks and said no, you need to go elsewhere as they are to busy in a rude manner. I arrived early with the rest of the day ahead. They did take my parcels on 'this one occasion' and had them processed within 1.5 hours so I was a little confused why and how they were 'too busy' to complete a service one of the biggest post offices in the area offer (no signs to say they don't). I chose this one simply because its much bigger and there are more staff while my regular PO is closed. If you are someone who uses the drop and go system, then avoid this PO and go somewhere else. I found them rude, and not very helpful. A first time and last time experience at this post office.

  I try to use this post office when I am in the town but everytime and this is not an exaggeration, there is a queue moretimes than most going out into the doorway close to the photo both. There are usually only two staff members on the counter and even then one could disappear into the back to do something which I am sure must be a necessary job, however, that then leaves one counter open and thereby frustrating the customers. I absolutely agree that the workers should be treated with politeness and not be shouted at, but it is a very hard thing I can see from when I have been there as customers are frustrated about the wait with only a few counters open. It is common sense surely that in a town with plenty of customers, more counters should be open and obviously IF they are not required at a point in time, they can go into the back and do something else. It is not rocket science. I would like to point out that all the staff are very friendly and polite and I would like to bet that they too wish they had extra staff as I feel sure it must frustrate them too so please, whoever you are who owns this branch, PLEASE can you deal with the staffing issue and I hope things improve soon. I certainly don't like experiencing seeing customers getting frustrated and angry such as a couple of weeks ago when they received a message saying their parcel was ready for collection and then told they had to come back again at a later date... The person behind the counter said "you might have been told it's ready for collection but it only means it's in the back but not yet sorted" that in my opinion is not what the message said to the customer. Maybe it is worth rewording the message, or not sending the message until the item has been sorted. I really hope you take notice of this review and I hope to have much better service going forward.
