This post office is the heart of our village. All high street bank branches have now closed so we rely heavily on the post office not just for postal services, but banking transactions too
Nigel and his team are amazing. They are friendly polite and above all very professional.
They will go above and beyond to help.
This 5 star rating is very much deserved

Nothing ever seems too much trouble, and Nigel always takes the time to explain things properly and make sure everything is sorted. It’s rare to come across that level of customer service nowadays, and it really does make a difference.
A huge thank you, it’s very much appreciated. 🌟

I honestly cannot speak highly enough of Nigel at Windermere Post Office. Every single time I walk through the door, whether it’s to do my banking, collect or change orders, or send postage, he greets me with the same warm, friendly and welcoming attitude. It genuinely makes such a difference to the experience, especially on busy days when most people would understandably feel stressed or rushed.
No matter how long the queue is or how much he has going on, Nigel always has a smile on his face and takes the time to make every customer feel valued and appreciated. His professionalism, patience and kindness never go unnoticed. You can tell he truly cares about the people who come into the post office and takes pride in providing exceptional service.
In a world where great customer service can sometimes feel rare, Nigel stands out completely. He creates such a positive atmosphere and makes even the simplest errand feel pleasant. Windermere Post Office is incredibly lucky to have someone so dedicated, hardworking and genuinely lovely representing the area every day.
There is honestly no postmaster like Nigel in my opinion. He is a real credit to the community and deserves every bit of recognition for the fantastic job he does.
Thank you Nigel from Dean @ Langdale Chase

Nigel and the team are fantastic. In the past few months alone, I have got a passport sorted, done some banking transactions, got tax on a car sorted, and had far more parcels collected and sent than I really want to admit. Nigel doesn't bat an eye at my Vinted addiction!
The Post Office is one of the true community 'hubs' in the area, and their friendliness isn't at the expense of efficiency (especially happy Jo, who can have a full conversation and serve you in the time you have blinked!)
On behalf of the three of us, thank you for being a centrepiece of Windermere.

Working as volunteer collectors for The Guide Dogs, the post master here has refused to accept our collection saying that he didn’t have enough time. The transaction would have taken 5-10 minutes and we had waited in line while other similar length transactions had been performed. We had spent 10 hours collecting, counting and bagging only for our donation to be refused for the sake of 5-10 minutes work.
Unprofessional and rude
Nigel seems to take pride on his customer service which is very commendable but is unable to spend 10 minutes processing carefully counted coin bags on behalf of a charity
The public have donated to a good cause. We have driven around numerous outlets collecting the donations, recording and counting them, only for the charity to be unable to see the benefit because you do not see that you have a moral obligation to spend 10 minutes processing them. I’m sure other customers in the queue would have been quite prepared to wait knowing this, particularly with another cashier in attendance. Indeed we had been happy to wait while other lengthy transactions had taken place.
We have indeed used your services on three previous occasions to bank previous donations and each time we were made to feel a hinderance to you, and you would rather we weren’t there. Your attitude this time was even worse in starting the transaction and two minutes in simply refusing to go any further and roughly passing the coin bags you had already counted back. Your demeaning, petulant and unhelpful attitude throughout the transaction, together with a history of similar behaviour on our previous visits, had wound me up resulting in my final outburst which I believe was said in a controlled and quiet fashion intended for your ears only. If you have taken offence then I apologise for this comment and this comment only. I feel the review is a necessary consequence of the days events and I won’t be taking it down.
I had half expected you to recognise your error, been a man, and apologised yourself but it seems that you are stubborn as well as being petty minded and uncharitable
I was in business myself and understand that stressful situations can inhibit rational thought but I think you need to consider the bigger picture when dealing with customers and their transactions and learn the art of patience. Waiting in line, chatting and observing transactions at a village post office is part of the charm of a village community
Hopefully we will be able to find another outlet to process the donations and The Guide Dogs will benefit
