- BRBrigid RoseMar 6, 20265.0When I moved to the village last year it was great to discover this gem of a post office tucked away at the heart of the village. It’s so handy for us folk who live here and roundabouts to have a post office available four mornings a week. It’s quite a few miles to get to any other post office from here so it’s much appreciated. Maureen, who runs the post office always has a warm welcome for you. Not only does she carefully ensure that parcels & packages are fit & ready to send (e.g. adding extra selotape if needed etc.) but she also always makes time for a friendly chat. Big credit to Maureen keeping the post office going and for setting it up in the little building that used to be her coal shed! Halton Lea Gate post office is a pleasure to visit - how many other post offices can you actually say that about?!

- ELElizabeth LankaJun 18, 20245.0Can't recommend this Post Office highly enough. I have been at a bit of a loss since the one in Haltwhistle closed. Going to Carlisle and Brampton. I didn't even realise there was one closer to me at Halton Lea Gate. Went there today, it is a bit hard to find on your first visit as it is an annex to a house. I didn't realise it wasn't a full service post office so I went without an envelope/bag thinking I could buy one there. Maureen the Post Mistress was so amazing. She found some brown paper and helped me package my items. What a total star. She was so friendly and professional. This is now my go to post office and the warm welcome is totally part if its charm. We need places like these that are the heart of country life and especially for our older members of the community. I will just remember to bring my packaging with me next time.
