And if you want to pay in money to your bank cash they still count it by hand other postoffices have a cash counter machine done in seconds.i payed money in another post office and was in and out in 4 mins great

I did not "need" ID I needed the QR code which I had. However there was a system failure. I appreciate that. But when I asked "how was I supposed to be aware of that" I was shouted at by store manager Jamie. Whilst I can appreciate issues.. I don't think making them the customers , no explanation just "you'll need to provide ID" like I was doing something wrong.

Simply hand over your sealed cheque deposit envelope to the Post Office who will provide you with a receipt for your cheque deposit envelope.
Why did my Post Office refuse to issue change?
If you’ve registered for the Change Giving service, you shouldn’t be refused change at your nominated Post Office branch.
You may have been refused if you’re not signed up to this service. If you’d like to do so, contact your bank directly to find out whether they offer the service and how to sign up.
If you’ve signed up but aren’t using your nominated branch, it’s at that branch’s discretion whether they have enough change available to fulfil your request.
