The post office in Irvinestown has been closed all week that’s the 4th time this year that it has closed for a week also various day it’s closed early or not open at all.
You may ask why.
Well it seems to be that they have only one member of staff that has been trained to carry out the service. Sandra.
When Sandra is on holiday or sick or for whatever ever reason she’s unable to work the Post Office is completely closed. Leaving the citizens of Irvinestown without the service the Post Office provides.
Yesterday I had a very important letter that needed Next Day Delivery , I had to travel 5 miles to Lisnarick to use this service.
Tomorrow I have a parcel to go to England for my great granddaughter’s birthday.
I’m certainly not the only one who needs this service but I’m lucky enough to have a car.
What about those people who don’t.
Whose bright idea was it to close our stand alone Post Office across the street (which was run very efficiently by Carmel and Patsy) and put the service in the hand of Musgrave Retail NI ? It’s quite obvious that they are incapable of providing the service that the residents of Irvinestown need.
