Today, she was met by a member of staff when trying to post her letter to the USA who was an utter jobsworth. She was told it was £4 odd to send to the destination (USA), Upon telling the member of staff that the letter contained a little sticker she had a glint in her eye and told her because you've told me it has a sticker you'll have to do a decleration as it's a gift. Then this delightful staff member then upped the price to over £6. What a charmer. It's not about the policy it's the way you deal with it and how you interact with people. You may even be the manager/owner. What a way to treat people. Officious is the word. This individual was not in usual blue uniform but a blouse. Never before has anyone in this branch bothered or made any a change to pricing when told it contains a letter and a sticker which she always sends with a letter and she has sent many many letters to the US and other destinations over the years via this post office. The sticker is likely worth around 1p at the max. She's now upset and doesn't want to go back in to this post office again.. Can't blame her. Friends and family won't be using this post office here again either so there's a good few local customers you've lost 👍.
