Went to be told the post office was closed. No idea if permanently closed, closed for lunch, closed for sickness or closed on a Weds. no further information was forthcoming and I couldn’t pick my parcel up.

It says the shop closes at 20:00 however this is wrong. It closes at 19:00 on a weekday.

Costcutters are running this place into the ground, shocking management. When we first arrived in St. Agnes 4 years ago it was open until 9pm, the same as the spar. Then it went to 8pm, now 7pm and it also now closes early on a Sunday. It is barely ever ipen until 7pm anyway, it closes early most of the time through staff shortages. Also for some bizarre reason, you cannot pick up any parcels from the Royal Mail or DPD when the post office isn’t open, even when they are there behind the counter… no other store does this (premier/spar/londis etc.), you can pick up a parcel as long as the store is open. I went in today as 16.40 to collect and parcel and was told no (despite the fact the post office is meant to close at 16.45), like the shop the post office also closes early often and just lots of issues like the ability to take cash is hit and miss, as is the ability to buy stamps. For a convenience store, it is not at all ‘convenient’. No wonder everyone goes to the SPAR. Most of the staff are good and very pleasant, but they often also appear sick to death of the terrible running of this shop.

The actual Post Office has reduced the opening hours to three days a week which is very inconvenient. No reason given .
