I've been expecting a signed for item and, finally, spoke to the sender who checked the tracking and reported "it’s saying that it’s been delivered to your 'neighbour' at Post Office and received by Claire end of last week (there is also a picture of a small Morrisons shop. Ramiz was the driver it confirms." Since I hadn't received a card telling me they tried to deliver and reporting it was waiting for me at Milnthorpe post office I called in there to enquire. Not only couldn't they find the missing envelope, they said it must have been returned to Carnforth sorting office and I should ring there. Since they were Post office staff and I had explained I had no card and it was the sender who had paid for tracking, they must have surely known I'd get nowhere with Carnforth!! I mean, no tracking number, no post card with a reference number, what was I supposed to say to Carnforth. And it is plausible it would have been returned there after three working days? I confess I was pretty grumpy but had there been the tiniest hint of customer service rather than a shrug of the shoulders I might not be writing this now. Milnthorpe is our local PO but in our neighbourhood we've had enough experience of offhandedness and even rudeness by a few members of staff (not all I should add) to convince my family and I that we'd rather go anywhere with our PO business than there. If you have a choice (and I know many don't) , avoid this place.

This lady went beyond her duty to reassure me it would be safe and I simply cannot praise her enough. She is an asset to Royal Mail and the Postal Service, you do not find many like her in today's work force. Thank you.

It’s a good job carnforth post office have out reaches nearby. Can’t send or receive parcels, don’t answer the phone and quite frankly are giving Post Office a bad name. Don’t take a post office counter on if you can’t man it.
