Very rude, could barely get a word in to the person behind the counter as if they were trying to talk for me! Just kept talking over me. What I was trying to say wasn’t that important to me anyway, I still found it a VERY RUDE way to conduct business, especially in an empty shop. There is no reason to be talking over someone as if they are in a rush. Regardless, I sealed my lips and just observed the behaviour and left with a fake smile and thanking them because I’m a polite person. To other DHL drop off customers - Beware that their collections are not after 2pm, they can come at any time. I arrived in time for collection cut off time as per the DHL website which very clearly states drop off before 2pm for same day collection. Their courier already collected at around 11am. I advise you to go to different DHL express in a different town which are also listed on the DHL website as my package was then only collected 2 days late. Dropped off on a Wednesday before 2pm. Radio silence on Thursday, DHL clearly states they collect on Thursday. The package was not picked up until Friday. Just sat in the shop for two full working days when it’s supposed to be express shipping. Incredible really.

Why doesn't DHL include duties and taxes in its delivery prices?
The Customs authorities in the destination country determine whether any duties and taxes are applicable when the parcel arrives. This is based on the information provided on the parcel label (or waybill) and Customs paperwork, such as the contents, declared value and weight.
Why is the receiver being asked to pay Custom duties and taxes?

What happens if no one is available to receive my parcel?
If there is no one available to accept the parcel, our DHL Express courier will usually leave a calling card at the address informing the receiver that they have tried to deliver a parcel. The receiver can then either collect the parcel from their local DHL Express Service Point or arrange another delivery. If they arrange another delivery, this can be to an alternative address. Just search on Google for "DHL Express On Demand Delivery" and enter the parcel tracking number.
