The management team at the Bretton branch—specifically Luke and the older lady behind the counter—consistently refuse standard services and display an appalling attitude. They frequently make up their own rules to suit themselves, including refusing to accept neatly packed, prepaid packages because they "couldn't be bothered." I’ve also been falsely told they don't handle vehicle taxing, despite it being listed as a service online. Today, I was even rudely told "not to come to this store." Between the constant refusal of services and the unscheduled closures, this branch is failing its customers.

Frustratingly, the online service to renew my Drivers License didn’t work, and unhelpfully the government website spat out an error that I could only renew my license in a post office. I read the reviews on here, and thought this place was going to be a combination of a Little Britain sketch (Computer says no) and buying a car in the Soviet Union. This was the nearest PO that actually worked around my working hours and did DVLA services, therefore I took a chance. Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised.
The queue was being dealt with efficiently, and Sonny (who was working at the counter) couldn’t have been more helpful. I appreciate others may have had bad experiences, but honestly my experience couldn’t have been any better and I wouldn’t hesitate to use this Post Office again based on my visit yesterday.

They stole a signed for parcel. Scanned only there and nowhere else. To be avoided.

Absolutely horrendous customer service!
Lady behind counter will make you wait even when there’s a long queue! And she’s rude and makes derogatory remarks about her job and employer. Completely un professional.
On this occasion she left the counter to go outside and have a cigarette and the queue was extra long . I use a different post office now .

Absolutely appalling service at Bretton Post Office, Peterborough.
The older woman at the counter was aggressively rude and completely unprofessional. When I politely asked for her name so I could make a complaint, she removed her name badge, turned her back on me, and shouted “go away, go away, I’m not talking to you.” This behaviour was shocking and unacceptable in any workplace, let alone a customer service role.
The manager, Luke, was no better. He refused to answer basic, relevant questions about the service and simply walked away. His attitude was dismissive, rude, and showed a total lack of accountability.
This wasn’t just bad service — it was hostile, dismissive, and utterly inadequate.
After seeing similar reviews, it’s clear this is an ongoing issue. Royal Mail/Post Office management appear either unwilling or incapable of addressing rude and unprofessional staff.
Shame on you, Royal Mail.
