Extremely frustrating experience, and completely unnecessary.
I went to this Post Office to send several parcels for my business, as I have been doing for months without any issues. The staff member refused to accept them, claiming that my boxes were too large to qualify as Small Parcels.
I explained that I had checked Royal Mail's requirements and that the boxes were within the maximum dimensions. I even went home, double-checked the measurements against Royal Mail's website, returned with a measuring tape, and showed her that the length, width and height were all within the exact limits stated by Royal Mail.
Her response was essentially that it didn't matter because the parcels wouldn't fit inside an old, battered cardboard box they apparently use as a "guide". Apparently, an ancient piece of scruffy cardboard is now a more accurate authority on Royal Mail's parcel dimensions than Royal Mail's own published measurements.
I had purchased the postage labels through Royal Mail based on those dimensions, yet the parcels were still refused.
To make matters worse, the labels were scanned incorrectly, creating further problems with the tracking information. I ultimately had to take everything home, purchase new labels, reattach them, update the tracking information and deal with the additional admin this caused for my business.
I've attached photographs showing the actual measurements of the boxes alongside Royal Mail's stated Small Parcel dimensions, so customers can make up their own minds.
I have been using these exact boxes for my business for months and have had no problems elsewhere. If Royal Mail's published dimensions say a parcel qualifies, I would expect a Post Office to follow those requirements rather than impose an unofficial "must fit inside our old cardboard box" rule.
A very frustrating experience that could have been avoided.

Came there long way (because of absence of any servicing post office in my area) and just found them closed at 10am saying "will open at 10:30". There's nowhere signs of there official opening times and google obviously shows it wrong too. This whole "royal" mail is really a joke these days, they outsourced all locations to shops and shop staff and quality dropped a lot since then. Giving them one more star thoug because _when_ they are open, they do provide all range of postal services.

Never open within the opening times! Becoming a joke the amount of time and fuel I’ve wasted!

Why did my Post Office refuse to issue change?
