I rarely leave negative reviews, but after two separate incidents within a single week, I feel compelled to share my experience.
The main issue appears to be with the attitude and behaviour of the branch manager, who on both occasions seemed more interested in refusing service than helping customers.
The first incident involved a passport photo. I had prepared a passport-compliant photo file and simply requested a print. I was refused service and told that because the photo was intended for a passport application, they would not print it. I have never encountered such a restriction elsewhere and found the explanation unreasonable.
The second incident was even more concerning. I visited the branch to return a prepaid Royal Mail parcel and was informed that Royal Mail had stopped accepting prepaid return parcels through Post Office branches “a long time ago.” Suspecting this information was incorrect, I immediately visited another Post Office branch where the exact same parcel was accepted and processed without any issue.
Being given incorrect information is frustrating enough, but being refused legitimate services on multiple occasions raises serious concerns about customer treatment at this branch.
Unfortunately, this was not simply a misunderstanding. The overall attitude was dismissive, unhelpful and disrespectful. Customers should not have to argue for services that are clearly available elsewhere.
As a result of these incidents, I have submitted a formal complaint to Post Office Customer Services and provided details of both events for investigation.
I sincerely hope management review the way customers are treated at this branch, as the current approach falls well
below the standard I would expect from a Post Office.
***UPDATE:
Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, your reply does not address the main issues raised in my review.
Regarding the passport photograph, my complaint was not about the photo services available at your branch. I had already prepared a passport-compliant photo file and simply requested a print. The question remains: why was this request refused?
Regarding the postal enquiry, I was specifically informed that prepaid Royal Mail return parcels had not been accepted through Post Office branches for a long time. This information was incorrect, as I visited another Post Office branch immediately afterwards and the same prepaid Royal Mail return was accepted and processed without any issue.
Your response does not explain why I was given incorrect information or why services that were clearly available elsewhere were refused at your branch.
I have now submitted a formal complaint to Post Office Customer Services regarding both incidents and will await the outcome of their investigation.
As you will be aware, video footage of these interactions is also available. Should Post Office Customer Services or branch management wish to review the footage, I would be happy to provide a copy so that the facts can be independently verified.
My concern has never been about a single mistake. It is about repeatedly being refused legitimate services, being provided with inaccurate information, and being treated in a dismissive and disrespectful manner.
I hope this matter is properly investigated so that other customers do not have similar experiences in the fut
