I’ve been coming here for over a year now, dropping off parcels every single week, and this is honestly such a great post office. Every time I visit, the whole team is always so polite and respectful, nothing is ever too much trouble. I especially want to say a huge thank you to the guy who helped me when I came in for the very first time, he was so patient and explained everything clearly and made the whole process so easy and stress‑free for me. Consistently brilliant service, lovely staff, I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

FURTHER UPDATE: My tracking updated to show that the package was sent back to the Super Hub and then the local mail centre on Sunday. I spoke to the postman who confirmed it was definitely delivered to this post office on Saturday as he remembers seeing my name. So they once again mixed up my parcel with outgoing parcels. What an actual colossal waste of my time. This is the second time a parcel of mine has been accidentally sent back to the mail centre. REVIEW: I get my parcels delivered here on average at least once a week. Most of the time it’s fine but very occasionally when it comes to Royal Mail I will be told that the parcel hasn’t arrived (despite it being shown as ready for collection in the Royal Mail app). Most of the time I’ll come back later that evening when there’s a shift swap and I’ll magically be given the parcel. I think this is completely normal that occasionally things get a little disorganised. Most of the time when this has happened it has been with the older gentlemen that works in the shop and one time it was with the older woman (but only because it was a parcel that had been split in to 3 packages without the correct posting label which was the sender’s fault, but she managed to find it when I came a couple of hours later). There was another instance last year where a very small parcel of mine was delivered to the post office for collection. For some reason, it was left at the bottom of the Royal Mail bag and sent back to the sorting office by mistake. It was then redelivered to the post office and the postman let me know this when he delivered my letters the next day as he knows me well. This background information is to say over multiple years, human error has occurred, which is completely normal! However, the older gentlemen who may be the owner (I’m unsure), when I tried to explain this had happened to me a few times (4 or 5) out of the 100s of times I have collected my parcels escalated the situation by becoming very argumentative and claiming I was calling them ‘incompetent’. It is incredibly unprofessional to be unable to take on feedback and concerns and resort to being combative and defensive. Things escalated further when, in a fit of unprofessionalism, he told me "if you think we’re so incompetent, come behind the counter and look for it yourself." I was then invited into the secure, restricted area of the Post Office to search for my own parcel. Which I did, and later on realised how insane that was that I was allowed to do that. Allowing a member of the public into a secure sorting area is a massive breach of security and data protection protocols. That area contains other customers’ private information and parcels. The fact that this was done flippantly as a way to "win" an argument with a customer is deeply concerning. I’m a customer, I’m not your friend. We do not have any rapport or such a cadence where you can speak to me any type of way. I understand it’s hot, people are bothered but under no circumstances should a professional speak to a customer in that way unless there is risk of violence or threat. It’s a shame, because like I said I come here often and it has mostly been fine and convenient for me. But like the saying goes it takes only one instance to ruin a good opinion of some one/a place. I have submitted a formal complaint directly to the Post Office about this particular visit at this branch which goes directly to corporate to deal with. I highlighted in the complaint, that I was invited to look for my own parcel is a secure area which breaches security protocols and data protection laws. I don’t appreciate men who think it’s appropriate to escalate situations unreasonably because of their inability to regulate their emotions. I rarely take things this far, but upon reflection if I didn’t highlight what happened today in a formal complaint directly to the Post Office, it would give this branch the impression that this is an appropriate way to interact with customers. This is absolutely the kind of conduct corporate needs to investigate.
