- SLStephen LewisMay 12, 20261.0This post office is drastically understaffed. The staff that are there do their best but it's ridiculous. They have 2 at most. It needs a minimum of 3 with another at times to be scanning in parcels that arrive in bulk from Evri. There's nobody to assist with the self service machines unless they leave their position at the counter. Staff say management won't give them more staff. It's better to walk further to Broad Street Mall post office if you can.

I am travelling for work in Reading, UK so I have just been to the Reading Post Office at 39 Broad Street, but the lady at the Post Office told me I cannot exchange my notes because I do not have a UK Bank Account. I told her if I had a UK Bank account I would have gone to exchange it at the bank and have it deposited into my UK bank account. I told her and shown her the information indicated on the Bank Of England website about exchanging the old withdrawn bank notes and it stated very clearly that the exchange at the Post Office that it cannot be changed if I do not have a UK bank account. I’ve asked her what about all the tourist with UK bank account who has of bank notes, she said just too bad ??! I shown her the Bank of England website with the information and she said she is not “The Bank of England”. Avoid this post office if you can.
