I am very disappointed with the service at this Post Office. Unfortunately, this hasn’t been a one-off experience it has happened on several occasions.
More than once, I have entered the shop to find nobody serving customers. On one occasion, I waited alone in the shop for around five minutes before going outside to ask if anyone could help me. One member of staff was outside smoking and talking on the phone. She told me that her colleague would help me, so she called her. When the colleague came over, I explained that I needed to use the Post Office services. She replied that it was actually the other staff member’s responsibility. I pointed out that she was outside smoking, and only then did she say, “Oh, sorry, I didn’t know you needed the Post Office.”
It is also very common to walk into the shop and find no staff at the counter. They often seem to be in the back, and there is usually only one person who can deal with Post Office services, meaning customers are left waiting.
I also had an issue when sending important documents to HMRC. The staff member questioned the address because it didn’t include a house number and even asked, “Who is HMRC?” I had copied the address directly from the official GOV.UK website. Those documents never arrived, which was extremely frustrating.
Another unacceptable experience happened when I came to collect a parcel. Instead of scanning my QR code, the staff member insisted on searching by my name, despite struggling to understand the spelling. I suggested scanning the QR code, which would have been much quicker, but she refused. She then asked me to search through the parcels myself because she wanted to serve another customer. After I couldn’t find it, she told me the parcel wasn’t there, even though I had received two emails confirming it had arrived. When I asked her to scan the QR code or check another storage area, she refused and simply continued serving other customers without trying to help.
This is, without doubt, the worst customer service I have experienced . Customers should not be left waiting in an unattended shop, asked to search for their own parcels, or have their concerns dismissed. I rarely leave negative reviews, but after several poor experiences, I feel it is important to share my honest feedback. I sincerely hope management reviews the CCTV, as it will confirm exactly what happened, and takes steps to improve the service.

I went there twice to pick up my package from Next, being informed by the courier that it was ready for collection. But unfortunately because I'm not English, the person didn't give me the package when I needed it, so I paid for fast delivery so I could pick it up when I needed it. The staff there needs more kindness and attention because customers pay to receive or buy something. Very deeply disappointed, I tried to call the store but unfortunately no one answered.
