They bear patiently with me as I put some extra tape on a box, their machine doesn’t read my debit card the first time around. The staff is always cordial and cheerful. A couple of years ago, I had a package get hung up in Atlanta. For four weeks. It was insured. I filled out the claim paperwork, and sent it in. I received two calls from the postmaster, the first telling me that the package holdup was due to the Atlanta post office being on strike, and why they were on strike. The second was to let me know they were expecting trucks to start coming from the Atlanta post office any day. He went out of his way to keep me backed away from the ledge.
