- BWbrittany webbSep 17, 20251.0I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the passport application service received at the St. Mary's Post Office location regarding an application for a minor. If I could give 0 stars, I would. On the initial visit, the staff, including the postmaster, misinformed my mother about the policy for a minor's passport application. We were incorrectly told that both parents were required to be present, despite providing the notarized consent form (DS-3053), valid identification, and a copy of the parents' licenses, as clearly outlined in the official documentation. This misunderstanding of policy necessitated two separate 30-minute drives to this location, resulting in significant inconvenience for my family. The minor also had to miss school on a separate day because the staff claimed no appointments were available after 2:30 p.m. It was only after repeated conversations with the staff over three days—and confirmation from the national passport information line that our understanding of the policy was correct—that the application was finally accepted. The experience was frustrating and could have been avoided with proper training on the applicable forms and procedures. I do not recommend this post office for passport services and urge you to conduct a policy review and provide additional training to the staff, particularly concerning minor passport applications.

Very great customer service. And such a cheerful work environment.

Kelly at the St Marys office provided incredible support to me throughout the entire process. Even after that issue was resolved, she still assisted me with another problem (outside of official requests, mind you). In an age where receiving real support from people that actually care is becoming the exception vs the norm, Kelly, the Postmaster, and the rest of the St Marys USPS staff continue to be an example of what USPS can achieve.
