This was my final opportunity to complete the process, as the next available appointments were several days later—too late to meet the state’s submission deadline. Unfortunately, the Secretary of State’s office had not informed me of the time constraints when I initially submitted my application, which added to the urgency. After oversleeping that morning following a late night celebrating my husband’s birthday, I found myself in a panic, knowing the office closed at 2:00 PM and was an hour away. I called while en route, hoping someone could accommodate me despite my delay. When I arrived, visibly stressed, Ms. Charu Deshetty greeted me warmly, immediately reassuring me that all would be fine. She simply said, “If the doors are open, we’re here to help.” Ms. Deshetty’s calm demeanor and professionalism completely transformed what could have been a disastrous experience into a reminder of what true customer service looks like. After months of challenges and administrative obstacles in trying to reinstate my lapsed state license, her kindness and efficiency provided an incredible sense of relief.
