- JDJerry DerhamDec 17, 20251.0I occasionally am set to receive packages and often I do without issue, depending on who the delivery person is. I live ìn Cave Spring, I watch the delivery person drive past my house several times daily. I live on a corner of intersecting streets, no fence, no obstructions , mailbox clearly marked. I have had to track (if I ca) down misdelivered packages. Occasionally I also; again depends on who's delivering have to take mail to my neighbors because their clearly marked 25 mail ends up in my 26 box. I was notified yesterday of a package out for delivery. I returned home from my pulmonary rehab appointment had to deliver mail to my neighbor which I received (no big deal) no package yet. Okay it says I have till 9pm. At approx. 1945 I'm notified the package was returned to Cedartown post office by driver for incomplete/ unattainable address. The post office doesn't answer calls so I can't make arrangements to pick up the package myself, so we're left at the mercy of someone either incapable of or not interested in doing a job or the carrier who is good at the job; either way is a coin toss. Cedartown post office needs to keep the drivers who actually want to be there and do the job and replace those that want a paycheck with minimal effort expended. Kudos to the carriers doing the job the right way. Everyday on Cave Spring Chatter Facebook there are people looking for missing/ misdelivered packages; maybe it's time for the Cave Spring post office to take over the handling of our own mail.
