The woman behind the counter today was dismissive and rude, and told me there was absolutely no way to avoid machine processing. It was clear she was unwilling to help, despite me being the only customer in the lobby at the time. I left with my invitations and called other USPS locations in St. Augustine, all of which confirmed that hand-canceling is possible. I want to note that I was at this same location the day prior to purchase stamps, and the employee who helped me then was very kind and helpful. Based on these two visits, the level of service seems to depend heavily on who is working, which was disappointing given the importance of what I was mailing
