This post office needs a major managerial review because the service is unacceptable. For taxpayers to go to the post office 7 minutes before the stated closing time of 6:00 PM and be told, rudely, “we are closed, you have to go to Summit,” is simply not acceptable. When I asked, “Don’t you close at 6:00 PM?” the response I received was, “I am not debating with you, we are closed.” That level of unprofessionalism and lack of accountability reflects poorly on the entire operation. If posted hours say 6:00 PM, then customers should be served until 6:00 PM, not turned away early based on convenience. People plan their time around those hours, especially working individuals who make an effort to arrive before closing. There needs to be better training on customer service, professionalism, and adherence to posted hours. Taxpayers deserve respect, consistency, and basic courtesy when accessing public services. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses both the customer service conduct and operational standards at this location.

Today, we experienced our first highly unsatisfactory interaction at the Post Office, located at 10299 Southern Blvd, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411, with front desk staff member Linette regarding obtaining a new PO Box. We explicitly communicated that we did not want a PO Box located on the topmost level, as it is difficult to reach, particularly for shorter customers. Linette stated that the PO Box assignments are random selected by a computer and beyond her control. She did not offer any viable way to influence placement. Her tone came across as dry and dismissive, making us feel unheard. Upon assignment of the PO Box, she left to check where the computer had placed us. Upon her return, when we asked whether the box was at a middle level, she proceeded to complete the transaction without addressing our request, effectively doing what she preferred rather than what the customer requested. If this computer placement is indeed fixed, we would have appreciated being given the option to accept the current box, decline it, or choose a different size to secure a reachable height. Instead, our request was disregarded, the transaction was completed, and we ended up with a top-row box. This forced us to queue again, creating unnecessary hassle. Additionally, we did not receive a full refund to reflect the discrepancy, which added to the frustration. This experience demonstrated a lack of consideration for accessibility and missed opportunities to accommodate customers. It appeared that there was a lack of empathy and professionalism in how the situation was handled. For example, Linette did not acknowledge our concern or provide any practical alternatives, and her communication did not convey patience or willingness to assist. We are seeking: a clear policy clarification on whether reachable box locations can be requested; stronger frontline guidance for staff to address accessibility needs promptly; and an explanation of why a full refund could not be issued when the error occurred on the service provider’s side. We hope the organization can improve accessibility practices and staff training to prevent similar situations in the future. With that said, how is the USPS accommodating a Disabled persons and veterans when the computer is fix? Thankfully, due to the dedication of an amazing manager and a very helpful young staff member who demonstrated genuine empathy and professionalism, we were able to obtain a larger PO Box, at a more accommodating height. We are truly grateful for their assistance and kindness. We came to this Post Office, because it is the closest, but it is upsetting knowing that we will continue to encounter this staff member lady, Linette. This office would benefit not having disgruntled employees like this around. And it was not just with us, while waiting for her error to be fixed we observed that she is not nice to all the customers. Everyone else was extremely nice from consistently upholding high standards of customer service and accessibility.

1 teller working, line of 30 people going out the door, management of this branch needs to manage staffing properly, it’s not working for the community. I regularly go to Post Offices in Boca and Lake Worth a d this one is by far the worst.

This post office is located in a central location w/easy accessibility from a main road. It has lots of parking & inside there is post office boxes, drop off area, gift card area, & service desk. The space usually appears overall clean & organized. There is also a lot of unmet potential in this space. There is usually the same main worker here w/another assistant/side-worker. She is courteous & professional, but appears to not want the business by providing limited responses to inquiries & rather than explaining & giving options, tries to make decisions & speed up the transaction process w/limited options. For example, I asked about stamp options & she told me there was only "sponge bob" & the basic usual stuff. I inquired about a recent issue where I had ordered special stamps on their website & the items were never processed (listed as "pending") & I never received them. She said that they're probably sold out. When I said that seemed like good news & hopefully they could order more in the future to meet the demand, she said that they would probably still be overbought so they couldn't win. I have never seen more than 2 workers at a time & this main worker has always been here when I have come. Being holiday season, I saw lots & lots of packages & it seemed as though they were overloaded by the response of the other worker, & yet there is always just 2 people I can see from my vantage point. There were only a few of us in line which surprised me considering the time of year. Because the response is so limited & deflated, I think people tend to avoid this spot as much as possible. I can say this is the case for me. Again, lots of potential for growth. I love the post office & sending out packages. Having more options & customer support in this process would make a huge difference for this location.
