Her tone was rude, cold, and dismissive, and this happened in front of a line of customers. I came in to print using my own custom paper. Another associate asked her if it was possible, and without even looking at me or asking what I was trying to print, she immediately said, “Nope, not possible,” and went back to what she was doing. No explanation, no attempt to help, and no effort to offer an alternative solution. She didn’t even speak to me directly. Staples offers many different printing options, and instead of trying to help or find a workaround, she simply shut me down and turned me away. It felt like she was more focused on getting rid of customers than assisting them. What made it worse was how she spoke to others in line as well including an elderly woman with the same rude and dismissive attitude. You could see the discomfort on everyone’s faces. If someone dislikes working with customers, they shouldn’t be in customer service. I don’t expect perfection, but I do expect basic respect and a willingness to help. Today’s experience was disappointing and unnecessary.
