One review stated this post office was permanently closed. •As of Monday, 22APR2018, this Post Office hours are M-F 10AM to 2PM. Sa & Su this Post Office is CLOSED. Lobby access (for general mailing of envelopes and post office box check) is OPEN 24-7. •Jan is an exceptional front clerk. I have received very good treatment - and I am a cantankerous sort. Kudos to the Allendale FL Post Office.

This is the location where the deaf woman asked for help with mailing her packages. She asked the postal employee to write down her answers; instead, the worker mocked the deaf woman, spoke loudly, and finally told her to leave her area of the counter. When this disabled lady asked to speak to a supervisor, she was given a note on which was written "we don't have to write down, write your congressman" and "it's not the law". Actually, it is the law. It is a legal requirement for this business to enable the disabled to be use their business the same as an individual without any disability. That includes writing down questions or answers or whatever is necessary for this deaf woman to complete her business. If this were a private enterprise, this disabled lady could easily lay claim to and become the owner of this business for the manner in which she was treated. For all involved: Shame on You in the Port Orange Post Office. Shame on You.
