However, I was informed that neither credit card nor cash payments were accepted. Despite being fully aware of this payment policy, the delivery driver went out of his way to carry the heavy package all the way to my doorstep, only to leave in frustration when the payment could not be processed. I then attempted to pay using the QR code provided on the notice, but this proved impossible because I did not have the tracking number. When I called the main UPS customer service line, I was told to contact the International Service Center; after calling that department and listening to a lengthy explanation, I was ultimately told that I would have to ask the sender for the necessary information. I believe this issue stems less from the individual delivery driver and more from a systemic flaw: UPS needs to clearly communicate—to both its employees and its customers—that the tracking number printed on the package is absolutely essential for making a payment. I have been a loyal and generally satisfied UPS customer for quite some time, so I am deeply disappointed by the shortcomings of this particular system.
