- JTJohn TackettFeb 6, 20261.0This UPS location has a reputation for price gauging. I only drop off prepaid customer packages and Amazon returns there now. I had a 13 lb. small box that I needed shipped to Miami. They quoted me $72. That was their slowest service. That is over $5 per pound to ship from one end of the state to the other. I drove to the Argyle Forest and Blanding UPS store with the same package and shipped it to the same location for $26 There is no plausible explanation for a $46 variance beyond a cash grab. My understanding is that UPS stores receive a portion of the declared value insurance upsells which would explain why another location less than 5 miles away is able to ship the same package to the same location for 63% less cost.
