Around 5:30 after the package had not been delivered I contacted Fedex and was told that the driver got delayed and that the package would be delivered by 8:00pm. I then asked to speak to a manger to get an ETA because I had someone waiting at my home all day on this package and I needed to let them know how much longer it would take. I was told by the supervisor that she would send a message out to the driver for an ETA and she would give me a call back as soon as she received a response. After not receiving a response I again placed another call to Fedex and was told that the driver could not deliver my package because he had to return to the office before they closed at 6:45pm. I am very furious about this situation and cannot understand why a driver would be allowed to return to the office without fulfilling all of his deliveries especially the ones that were paid to be delivered on that day! This is not acceptable and also if it is protocol for a driver to be back at the office before it closes why wasn't I notified of this by the supervisor why was I told that my package would be delivered by 8:00pm if they knew the local office closed at 6:45pm and the driver would have to be back by that time. I also never received a call back with this information as I was told by the supervisor that I would! I understand things happen but the miscommunication and lack of follow through by the FedEx driver and representatives is unacceptable! At this point I am very dissatisfied with Fedex and will not be using them in the future and will request all of my packages be shipped UPS even if it cost me out of pocket!!!
