Every time I go there, they are closed. No sign. That's not the way a federal government branch is supposed to operate.

I got in line a little after 4:00pm after waiting about 40 minutes in a line to be seen the post office clerk told me that she's only allowed to take 10 transaction per person because she's by herself and the line in long. I then said okay and I counted out ten envelopes and she took them and proceeded to do her thing. Then I asked her "so each item is a transaction?" Because I was pretty sure she meant 10 items and not 10 transactions, by the way I had a total of 14 items. She said "yes that's what they tell me because I'm here by myself and the line gets long like this". So I told myself if that's the rules then that's the rules so I was going to just jump right back in line, but as I thought that she then say "yea because we close at 4:45" I was like" wow that's in 5 minutes I was going to get right back into the line but I guess I can't do that!" Then as I was taking my receipt she mumbled to herself "oh let me see who's the last person" almost like she was letting me know not to get in the line again. The address to this post office is 5451 N State Rd 7, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33319. So I ended up having to go to another post office and the clerk was so nice I felt in there I should ask if that is allowed for them to do the limit on how many items for customers and the gentleman said no that's not right then he mentioned that the manager was right behind them and he asked the manager in front of me and the manager said no we're not told to do that. That's what made me want to make this complaint. The second post office that I went to is 1900 W Oakland Park Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311 and although there was a wait there too I truly enjoyed my experience because waiting isn't the issue for me it's lying to me as a customer and turning my 40 minute post office run into a 2-hour post office run for 14 items.

Very bad experience with this location. From the very first visit on Friday, they refused to accept my package because it was not fully sealed with tape. When I asked the employee to help seal the box (it required only about 3–4 inches of tape), she refused to do so and instead told me I had to buy a whole new roll of tape in order to ship the package. No self-service option or reasonable solution was offered where I could simply use a small amount of tape to finish sealing the box. I ship packages very often, and at other locations this is never an issue. At UPS locations especially, this is a completely normal practice — packages are typically sealed on-site without any problems. Overall, a very poor and disappointing experience.

The experience was extremely frustrating. The attendant (dark skinned) appeared uninterested in helping and when I couldn’t figure out the box, her response were short & no assistance was offered. I regret not choosing another location.
