- GGGrace GJan 20, 20263.0Before taking my box to the Crystal River post office to mail, I used the USPS online calculator to calculate charges: $26. I took the package in and the CR carrier said it would be $50 at the lowest rate.I told him he was wrong and he stood his ground. I took the same box to the Homosassa Post Office and the carrier said "$26." I told him about my experience at Crystal River and he took out a tape, measured, weighed, checked the delivery address and confirmed the $26 charge. My problem is that the Crystal River carrier should have had enough experience to know that his number was not correct and should have handed the package to another carrier to double check.
