We had an appointment at this USPS location yesterday for my husband and daughter to apply for passports and the experience was extremely frustrating. The passport clerk incorrectly told us that first time applicants cannot apply for a passport card without also getting a passport book, which is completely false according to the official U.S. Department of State website. Because of this misinformation, my husband drove an hour and a half and left work early only to be turned away. This entire situation could have been handled very differently had the passport clerk been kinder and taken a moment to double check the information instead of being so confident he was correct. His attitude and refusal to verify wasted our time completely. Checking after we had already left, according to his supervisor, was too late. I appreciate the gesture, but the right thing to do would have been to tell us to hold on, stay put, and find out for us. Afterward, I called the national USPS number and confirmed that I was correct and first time applicants are allowed to apply for a passport card only if they choose. I also spoke with the supervisor at this location today and she was extremely apologetic, kind, and helpful, which I truly appreciated. However, this was a serious mistake on the clerk’s part, and I have brought the issue to Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna’s office so that this does not happen to anyone else in our community.

I walked in a minute late and instead of telling me they were closed they just ignored me. It was a bald headed man and two old ladies who were deliberately just standing there avoiding eye contact. It’s a post office. Communicate. Stood there for 5 minutes confused only to be “shood away” through the hand gestures from the other side of the glass lol. (PSA google says 5 o’clock, they closed at 4:31, when I walked in.)

I have been going to this Post Office for years and have always received great service. I had a missing package and April helped me like the professional she is. Shout out to Benjamin Franklin for literally inventing the Post Office
