- VVVen-ci-le-ta6 days ago1.0I visited this UPS Store to complete a return for a box I had purchased. When I arrived, there was one customer ahead of me a Spanish-speaking male being helped by an older Spanish-speaking male employee. Once that customer was finished, I was clearly next in line, standing there with the box and my receipt in hand. Instead of assisting me, the employee walked away and went into the back to use his phone. I stood there patiently for about five minutes. Eventually, I heard him tell a very young employee to go help me. The young man came to the counter, but it was clear he was fairly new and didn’t know how to process the return. He kept looking toward the back where the older employee was on his phone. The young employee finally went to the back to tell him that he needed help with a return and that he didn’t know how to do it. Only then did the older employee come back to the counter. At that point, I calmly said, “I’m not invisible. I was next in line, you saw me, and you walked away to make a phone call while I stood here.” He responded sarcastically with “OK.” I then told him that if I were white or Spanish, I’m confident this situation would not have happened. I made it clear that yes, I am Black but I am not invisible. I am also a paying customer, not someone asking for a favor, simply here to do a return with my receipt in hand. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to this location. Neither will my family, and if friends ever ask for a UPS Store recommendation, this location will not be suggested. Customer service and basic respect matter, and this location failed on both.

Waited in line for 10 minutes only to have the manager rudely tell me that packages aren't sorted and I should come back. I came back and they charged me $10 to collect my package! This was not explained when I selected this option for shipping. I can't believe the store is allowed to get away with charging a surprise fee at pick up. I'll never go back to this store again. Awful experience.
