The address on Google maps is totally wrong, it’s actually building 29 which is right next to the ceremonial gate. They opened five minutes late but the clerk was very nice and helpful!

I did a Google search for "closest post office near me," and Google did not mention that this post office which was .08 miles from my hotel is on a military base and inaccessible to civilians. Meanwhile, the USPS in the Ford building was one block away from my hotel, but was not listed as the closest one. I discovered this by asking a local on the street.

This post office does not even deserve 1 star for its customer service. I had a package being shipped to a friend in the area that was never delivered. I filed a claim and a representative from this post office called named, Cerita Busch. When I tried to call the post office back, no one answered the post office phone for several days. When I finally got a hold of her after calling 5 times that day. She was very unprofessional and rude on the phone. She was unable to provide me any advice on how to locate this package that was never delivered. The only advice she could give was to call the 600 Pennsylvania Ave post office to see if it is there. Again, no one from the post office is answering the phone and she could not connect me directly with anyone from this post office. I do not know how the post office can get away with the very unprofessional employees that are hired to work there and that do not seem to care at all about providing at least adequate postal service to the surrounding area. I often wonder where all these missing packages disappear too.
