I had an extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience at the Southport Post Office during my scheduled passport appointment. The older woman working the counter, Marie, showed a complete lack of professionalism and basic customer service. Despite having a confirmed appointment, I was ignored and repeatedly told to “wait”. After she took my IDs and personal information, she instructed me to go wait in the lobby. I questioned this and explained that I felt uncomfortable waiting in the lobby while she had my personal documents and sensitive information. After being told to wait even longer, I asked for all of my paperwork and IDs back and chose to leave. The entire interaction was handled poorly and made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected. Appointments are scheduled for a reason, especially when dealing with sensitive personal information. This experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and unacceptable. I hope management takes this seriously, as this behavior reflects very poorly on the post office.

A white lady named Maria and he white young coworker Male, did not want to help me with my passport renewal process questions. They were kind to the other white people coming into the post office, but when it was my turn they had an attitude, especially the lady named Maria. Really hurt and disappointed with the racism I had to deal with. Now I’m concerned my passport won’t renew.

Got passports for the kids here. Lin (spelling likely incorrect) was great. Unexpectedly efficient.

Went here for the first time and will not return. Extremely discriminatory and racist remarks from the manager. I was appalled to hear those comments and reported the manager to the appropriate governmental agencies. I hope to see them take action soon over this inappropriate behavior at this branch.
