  The carrier assigned to my street in Ridgefield is super nice - he'd get 5 stars as he always goes above and beyond. This two-star review is due to the cranky bordering on mean older man who is sometimes providing customer service. He is a USPS worker who complains about the government every chance he gets. Um, that's his employer! Instead of complaining, maybe he could actually do something to make his postal office better. The OTHER workers are all kind and cheerful. It's gotten to the point that I will let someone go ahead of me instead of dealing with him. Now my next complaint is probably directed more at the "efficiency" project under General Louis DeJoy who in 2021 said he had a ten year plan to make the USPS "more efficient". The result of this is a sad state of affairs. I have stopped mailing anything from the state of CT directly because of the ridiculous change with distribution centers and the incredible delays or just mail simply disappearing. I never ONCE had this problem in California, but in CT I've mailed Christmas cards in November that reach California in Feb. And I've had several packages simply go missing. And trying to find out information with the tracking number gets you in circles. It's a disaster all intended to ruin the USPS so that it can be privatized so that yet another once-functional and useful gov ran organization that was NOT supposed to be a profit center - it was a service to the American people - can be bought by some private equity firm and run into the ground. Anyway, none of that would matter quite as much if the guy at this post office wasn't a surly crank.

  Yeah, they suck! A watch I mailed to a client suspiciously disappeared after mailing with a tracking number. I have a custom bag that tracking says Ridgefield out for delivery on the 10th of September and today is the 13th and it's still not here? Says delayed in transit? How could that be possible if it reached the Ridgefield Post Office? Not only that but I ordered this bag specifically for a trip to Brazil I'm taking on Monday the 15th. Now I have to go down there today and find out, because if its not here today I won't have it for Monday the 15th, and it was out for delivery in Ridgefield on the 10th? From my past incident with the watch the Post Master is never in there and from what I could tell works about zero hours a week literally. I'm somewhat expecting the same results when I head down there today with my bag now that had seemed to have gone somewhere else possibly and I'm bracing to not have it for my trip Monday. Just pathetic for an upper level income town.
