I was desperate to find out where a package that had been sent to me, actually wound up being delivered. This was the DAY BEFORE XMAS EVE. I knew I would be in for lots of waiting. I expected having to wait to find an open parking spot. I expected to have to wait in a ridiculously long queue for service. I was wrong! Plenty of parking spaces! No one on line ahead of me! The postal worker who assisted me was polite, patient, knowledgeable, friendly + helpful. That was when I realized I must be in a parallel universe. I decided to make the best of my time while there. I explained that my online vendor apprised me that the USPS sent confirmation of the delivery of the item I'd purchased from her. They provided a tracking number which led to the delivery in my mail box. Went to my mailbox - no package. Called vendor - she told me to contact my post master. At the Post Office I was told tracking # showed item delivered. I live in a complex where there are 250 mail boxes. I asked how a tracking # shows proof of delivery to MY PARTICULAR mail box. Apparently, the mail carrier is supposed to scan the package + then place it in the mail box. Sounds good in theory. But when the mail carrier has all the mail boxes open simultaneously, how do we know for sure the item scanned was put in my mail box + not an adjacent one? Well, we don't. The postal worker who was assisting me checked with the supervisor. I was directed to check with all my neighbors to see if any of them had received my package by mistake. That sounds good in theory. But in real life, I don't know all of the people residing in the other 249 units in my complex. Call me crazy, but in this day + age, I don't believe anyone knows 249 of their immediate neighbors. Why are we buying things online, PAYING FOR SHIPPING + HANDLING and not receiving these items - only to be told to go hunt for them ourselves? Was this a productive use of my 45 minutes at the PO? No. Was the postal employee to blame? No. Was this a completely avoidable problem? Yes. Will I give thanks this season of miracles, for having found a parking spot quickly and having gotten a postal employee to assist me quickly? Yes. If, by any chance, you have received a package containing 2 kitchen towels with kittens dressed in Xmas attire, please let me know.

Power is partially out but they remained efficient, kind, polite and couldn’t be better. Notable too is how nice everyone on line was to them and to each other as well. The tone was set so well.

I don’t know why USPS has a bad reputation. The customer service is absolutely incredible. This is the second time I had to call due to a delivery issue, I called customer service who contacted the Danbury location. Both times I received a call back within an hour and with a solution to my issue. The employees are also always super helpful and pleasant.

The worst USPS i’ve ever been to. Felt like I was treated like a criminal. I’m fairly young and just started to live on my own so i’m still learning day by day. I had first went to the location on Main St. I need a money order to move into my apartment. The clerk at the Main St location told me she was covering for someone and that she wasn’t able to do the money order for me, so she sent me to the Backus ave location. I went there, told them the amount, and now since the amount was over a certain amount, I had to fill a form. Mind you, i’m also in the process of moving and came to the location with my father in the moving van. I’m still trying to get used to my new address, so I had put the new address down. Noticing my mistake, I needed to put my address that’s on my license, so i did scribble and put it underneath. The clerk grabs his manager, and the manager asked to see my license, which I did. She tells me to move to the side. Then she tells ALL of the other clerks to move away from me. This makes me feel uncomfortable because there was a long line of customers waiting behind. The manager comes back, gives me my license and says ‘I’m not processing this money order. Because you went to the other location and tried to do the same thing and I have the right to refuse’. I then try to explain to her that the person at the Main st location sent me and kept getting interrupted by her saying ‘I have the right to refuse’. ‘No you were at the other location and tried to do the same thing’. She even asked me what I was paying with and I told her a debit card and still went process it. I don’t know her name but she was very rude to me for no reason. She also said to me she knows that me and my ‘little friend in the van’ can leave. Mind you, it’s my father in the moving van. I went to grab my father and told him what happened. He had explain to her that I was moving and needed the money to move in. In the beginning she kept repeating the same things but then she asked me for PROOF that I was moving. Then she had gave me another paper to fill out and say ‘if you fill this form the same way you did it before I will not accept it’. And if she’s reading this, I really don’t like how I was treated in there. Yes i’m young, yes it was a learning experience for me but I wish you would’ve let me spoke and stopped interrupting me. I understand there’s been fraud happening and you have to always be careful with stuff going on. But it’s the fact you embarrassed me in front of all those customers and didn’t give me a chance to speak. You apologized when I was leaving but I don’t think you really cared about how that made me feel especially as a customer. You could’ve said “You scribbled this and i can’t accept it, write a new form” or something of the sort. No. You told me to move and the clerks to move away from me. It made me felt like I did something wrong, like committed a crime. Thank you for processing it, but I didn’t have to go through that. Nobody should especially first timers. Horrible experience ever, but you live and you learn.
