  The post master is alright, for the first few times I called they answered and showed certacy but when another lady answers the phone she blocks my numbers after calling and won't answer questions, I just wanted to know if my mail was there and she said it wasn't on the phone and when i walked in. Called the next day on a friend's phone and the Postmaster answered and said it was there 2 days ago and why I didn't call or show but yes I did, huge employee issue and I recommend all (seems we all are) who are having trouble file an employee complaint and try to notify the Postmaster, I sure as hell will.

  Waited 25 minutes for someone to come to the front and this was after ringing the bell a number of times. I could hear people yelling in the back that they weren’t “on the clock yet” so it wasn’t their job. The post office was open, they should be prepared to take customers. The customer service is awful and needs to be improved immediately.

  Chronically understaffed, even during peak holiday times. Lines 10+ customers long with only one employee cashing them out (a regular occurrence here). Save yourself the aggravation and head to either Weatogue, Canton or Unionville…this place is run completely incompetently.

  Zero. I would give it zero stars if I could. 1) Multiple times we'd find a "Sorry we missed you" slip in our mailbox on days when we were home. That slip is to be attached front doors as proof that an attempt to deliver was actually made. In other words, the person who filled out that form lied and didn't want to take an extra five minutes to drive an extra 200 feet to our front door. 2) Whenever (and I mean always) when I call the Avon post office I hear a message stating that someone will pick up the call as soon as possible only to---after waiting on hold for several minutes--be disconnected. Judging from the other horror stories online about the abysmal overall service at the Avon branch someone needs to be fired. Or, since no one is every fired for poor management or service from a government job, the manager in charge needs to be reassigned to Fairbanks, Alaska.

  The post office in Weatogue was closed off by road repairs so I went to the Avon PO - OMG what a joke. People arguing about who is in charge. This place needs to be cleaned out.
