They don’t care about you, or your package.
Back in AUGUST , I unfortunately made the decision to mail out my aunt’s gift through them, as they were on my way to work. I purchased a cute little mailer, sent it on its way, gave the tracking info to my sister, and didn’t think too much about it.
Day it’s supposed to be delivered , I check the tracking info. Says package is refused at address. Huh? I call my sister, who’s equally confused. Said no one ever tried to ring doorbell/knock. I don’t remember anyone at UPS telling me it’s a signed package, so after a couple of days with no updates, I call this location.
Whoever answers seems annoyed. Says they can’t do anything, don’t know what’s going on, but the package should be being returned to this location. They can help once it’s back, they’ll call me.
Fine. Only I never get a call, and after a week of nothing, I go in person. I ask the front clerk if the package is there. He’s looking for it, can’t find it. He looks up the tracking info, and sees it’s also been refused. I ask him if that was because there was supposed to be a signature required . He says “ No, that’s weird! I don’t know why it would say that!” ( at this point I’m kind of thinking the delivery person stole it). After he says that we kind of stare at each other, and then I ask if I’m able to start a missing package claim. He has me fill out a form with my contact info and description of package. Says it can take awhile, so only reach out if i haven’t heard anything by the first week of October.
Gets to be the first week of October , no updates. So I head back on in. Talk to the front clerk again. He goes and rummages around, and come to find out… CLAIM WAS NEVER SUBMITTED. He was very apologetic, which I appreciate, but still I’m very frustrated.
More time goes by. Stop in again. They are able to refund my mailer & delivery cost, but say they are still waiting as far as the cost of the items I delivered. Says I most likely won’t be refunded on my $60 gift card that was in there… so I ask about their pack & ship guarantee signs that are plastered around the store, saying that if something is lost or damaged through them, it’s covered. He says it’s because it’s a monitory item that they can’t prove the value of, it’s rarely covered. Of course it’s not. And I don’t see this stated anywhere on their website, so who knows if it’s actually true or just something they say so you get discouraged as far as getting refunded.
At this point, I still don’t have anyone reaching out to me saying if my other item is going to be refunded or not. The last time I was in, the clerk said I could start my own claim through UPS website , to help expedite the process. So I start filling out all the info online, press submit. Guess what pops up? MAXIMUM DAYS TO SUMBIT CLAIM HAVE PASSED.Wow. How nice that would’ve been to know! Maybe when I first came in!
I am beyond disappointed and exasperated at this whole situation. The manager, who I’ve never met/seen, is supposedly the only one who deals with claims. I’m sure she’s in the back room, ignoring as the claim sits in a file somewhere, still not being submitted.
So thanks UPS, for not only ruining my aunt’s birthday, but for wasting my time, and losing my trust in the whole team there.
I will be going back to USPS . While a bit out of my way, I have never had a horrible experience like this with them.
Please, if you’re going to ship out with UPS, think twice.
