  Every time I visit this post office, there is some fresh new hell. It's astonishing that the post office can make picking up and dropping off mail and packages so utterly frustrating. We have unfortunately had to use this post office for the last 4 years because they service our address in rural Jefferson county. The amount of mail and packages that they misdeliver or label "undeliverable" is absurd. This common scenario then requires making time for a twenty minute drive to the post office to debate with the staff about whether your package might be there or not. Sometimes they'll hold a package for 2 weeks. Sometimes it's ten days. Sometimes they say if you don't come for a package in a week, they return to sender. With full time jobs that match the open hours of the post office, it can be impossible to carve out an hour of time to repeatedly find lost mail. And God forbid you show up on a Saturday because there's only one person there and she's doing passports as well as mail which turns a simple errand into a long slow wait. Aside from that, it seems that every employee has been trained on a different manual regarding the policies and procedures of the USPS.... Picking up packages has required everything from a pink USPS delivery slip to my driver's license to my husband's identification to tracking numbers to calling senders. Unfortunately, the staff are also actively unhelpful and antagonistic, which makes the frustration of the larger system that much worse. The one thing they are absolutely crushing is the level of creativity in finding ways to make mail delivery absolutely unbearable <3

  Most of the staff who work here are professional. Some of the staff here are not; and think it’s ok and try to waste your time by telling you that you cannot do a walk-in passport application despite the fact that someone from this post office told you to come in next day early morning to complete it.

  I am keeping the 5 stars as USPS only accepts the applications—the actual processing of documents is done by the U.S. Dept of State. I was; however, very disappointed that our original documents were returned to us folded, which is UNACCEPTABLE as they were official documents. You do need an appointment to apply for your passport but, aside from the document issue, the process was very smooth. Shout-out to Tami! She was incredibly kind and helpful. The office was empty when we arrived, but she came out immediately after we rang the bell. No waiting at all! 📍 Tip: Bring your completed form and copies of your documents. We also brought our passport photo, though I believe photos can be taken there as well. Tami handled all payments, so we didn’t have to wait in line to purchase a money order. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes. Overall, it was a positive experience.
