    This is an absolutely beautiful location, compared with any post office. It is a modern facility in a gorgeous area surrounded by mountains. The parking lot is gigantic and easy to access, there is a special drive-up lane for dropping off letters in a blue box. When you go inside the clean modern and well maintained lobby there is one of those large drums that will take small packages or you can put them in the hamper by the counter. The PO Box access and other certain services are open 24/7, the hours of this location are 08:00-18:00 Monday through Friday and 08:00 to 13:00 on Saturday. The staff I interacted with were extremely friendly and courteous. On my very first visit here I set up a PO box and that was easy. There are self-service kiosks and other automations that make the place above and beyond what you normally find at other locations. If you happen to be a PO Box holder you can also have Parcels received there from any carrier including UPS FedEx Amazon by using the physical address of the building and your box number.

    If I could give zero stars I would. I had a package that I sent to Switzerland that’s spent about two months spinning around the United States. It was returned once to me to update the customs information and The post office said they would make sure it got delivered. Unfortunately, it was never delivered and despite it coming back to Colorado several times (Which I could see through the tracking number) it Wasnever returned to me, and I was never given a reason why it could never be shipped out to Switzerland. Sarah the manager at this branch knew that she needed to intercept the package to give it back to me but decided never to do this and a final last effort was made by USPS to return it to Colorado and when I returned to the post office in Golden to pick it up, she acted like she had never seen this package. Ironically the local postal delivery person for my area said she saw it and saw that they were sending it back to California (If she’d been aware of my issue, she would’ve delivered it to me, but was told after the fact when one of my neighbors mentioned what fun I was having with the Golden post office). I will never be using the USPS for international deliveries again.

    If there would be -1 start I would give it to them; What an awful experience with USPS people either from this branch as well as online, I requested a change of address online to ensure I was getting my mail re-directed and apparently everything went fine, but I received a follow up email being required to go a USPS office for ID verification which I did and the person there successfully confirmed my Identity. A couple days later I receive another email saying that my address forwarding wasn't successful because of not being able to prove ID. So came back to this office and a quite ignorant lady told me there was nothing in my records, like if my name wouldn't;t exist. Showed her the confirmation emails and the receipts and she completely ignored these. Then she told me, do it again, it only costs $1 dollar to submit an address change and I told her she was incorrect but she insisted. These people live in another world, unbelievable!! I wish all these people would get paid based on the ranking from their customer service, then another story would be.

    Went in for a passport appointment. The staff were very pleasant and it took less time than I expected. We left an item there by mistake and they were kind enough to mail it back to us.

    I currently have a package that has been out for delivery since july 26th. Spoke to someone on the phone surprisingly someone actually answered. She was so rude to me and informed me she does not have the time to look for the package. Sometimes they fall and get tossed in the trash because they don't have time deal with them. EXCUSE ME, YOU WHAT?! I put a call into the 1800 usps number, a very nice man who seemed genuinely concerned wrote down my complaint and Sarah the manager of the Golden po calls us on a sunday night and is so very rude and unhelpful. Again we are told packages are thrown away all the time. Or my label was too destroyed. We'll it clearly wasnt destroyed enough to be scanned for arrival at the post office and scanned for out delivery. So I have put a call into usps inspections because sarah clearly wants her post office to continue to be a joke. As I type this, I had a package out for delivery today and now it is at a usps facility in a DIFFERENT ZIP CODE with delivery date unknown. What the heck, it was at the Golden post office and out for delivery today how is it somewhere else now?? What are they doing at this post office. This isn't the first time we have had issues either. A month ago they were sending all my fiances packages back to sender. He has lived here for 2 years. Did a change of address the day he moved in and one day our mail carrier just decided nevermind he doesn't live here. It was so nice that they returned his truck registration and tags back to sender so we had to pay for replacements. I really hope something changes. I now have changed my shipping address to my parents house now because I do not trust that anything will show up. I should be able to trust my local postal service. Unfortunately that is not the case here in Golden, Colorado.
