Worst god awful mail experience I’ve ever endured. Can’t get what I ordered delivered to me and when it is delivered to post office you’re waiting till Monday on a Friday delivery. If you’re thinking of moving here think twice. The post office is that awful

I have lived in many different areas around the US, and this has to be one of the laziest and most deceitful Post Office staff I've encountered. Everyone is allotted a rough or "off" day, but I have had consistently bad and rude service. They get more money for PO Boxes and refuse to allow (based on irrational and outdated reasons) a mailbox at my home located just across the street from the post office, but yet still consistently try to charge for our PO Box and make all our packages arrive late due to their slow sorting, bad prioritization, irresponsibility, and refusal to go and find specific packages (packages that have already arrived based on consistent tracking) unless pressed. I have been nice throughout EVERY encounter, yet my partner and I are treated as nuisances for asking for the bare minimum and for them to do their job. His experiences have been even worse than my own. We are consistently gaslit for our concerns and important documentation and paperwork is consistently lost by them. They have asked us to redue the same information multiple times and attempt to make it our problem. We have changed the way we label mail as per their request and they still belittle and ignore our concerns about how our things are being handled, while trying to blame us for their negligence. Either get your actions together, or at least allow me to send mail across the street to quit wasting both our time. If this is a staffing issue, that's one thing, but it does not excuse your behavior. Based on many other community members, including many who added their negative reviews, get your act together or at least learn to be respectful and kind. In case anyone is unaware, each PO Box means more federal funding, so if you are in a similar position as me, this is a choice by our Post Office and rules they made, not federally mandated. Your money supports this and you do have a say.

During the nearly 20 yrs I have lived in Mancos, the postal workers here have always been very kind, knowledgeable, and professional even during the chaos of the pandemic and staffing shortfalls that have impacted this location recently. They never complain. Keep up the good work!
