I paid for a rekey of my mailbox when I bought my house 3 months ago and they gave me the wrong keys. Like totally wrong kind, everything was wrong. I went back after figuring this out and they told me to fill something out and they would call me but never did, so for my 4th trip to the post office on this same issue they proceeded to call me a liar and insist that I just lost the keys they gave me. Like if they had just talked kindly with me I would have said fine sure I’ll just pay the $40 again and who knows what happened but I need the keys correct- but instead they were all attitude all the way up to the top of manager who insisted they never make mistakes so I must be lying. Kept trying to catch me out on everything I said versus just telling me what the next steps are. I get it. It’s an impossible situation to prove either way but the incredibly rude staff doesn’t make it better, it just makes me take my business elsewhere whenever possible. This is why no one wants to help fund the USPS. Antiquated systems combined with rude poorly trained staff doesn’t make for a reliable service worth spending any more money on. At least private companies have some sense of customer service.

Worst usps location, only 1 attendant to about 30 people waiting in line. Another guy was sorting or whatever he’s doing, why not instead help the line. every time I come it’s like that. And the audacity to ask for a survey!

I had a really uncomfortable experience at the post office recently. While standing in line, the employee at the counter was being rude to several customers ahead of me. When it was my turn, I was hoping maybe it would go better, but unfortunately it didn’t. I had a question about something I didn’t understand, and instead of explaining it, she seemed irritated and unwilling to help. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was that she began speaking negatively about her manager to another employee right in front of customers, saying he didn’t know how to do his job. The whole interaction felt very tense. I could see she was getting more upset, her voice became escalated so other customers could hear, so I decided to remove myself from the situation and said I would simply just go to another post office. She laughed and said “I know what I’m doing I work here.” Upon leaving I ran into the manager who was very kind and apologetic. Overall, it was a disappointing and awkward experience.

I am usually super gracious with poor customer service, but this was a wild experience. The lady at the counter was incredibly rude and told me i was the worst customer ever. A few people on my way out apologized to me after because i was kind to her and simply needed help understanding why my package had been returned to the post office instead of at my house and they watched how unkind she was. Truly in a bit of shock at how i was treated. My guess is I was just the recipient of her frustration and anger pent up about other things, but left honestly just pretty disappointed in humanity and how unkind we are as people. I really hope whatever was going on for her gets better but it left a really negative experience at this post office and I will probably intentionally stay far away.
