I stopped in to mail a package and was asked to return in 30 minutes because the employee who packs boxes was busy. She was kind, apologized several times, and thanked me for coming back which I appreciated. However, when I asked about the shipping cost, I was told, “It won’t be much.” When my husband returned to ship the package, the total was over $100. Due to the unexpected cost, I went back to request a refund and have the package returned. The employee did process the refund, but attempted to charge me for the box which I refused to pay. What was most frustrating was the lack of ownership. I was told, “I should have never opened my mouth and told you that it wouldn’t be much,” followed by comments that it wasn’t her fault. A simple acknowledgment such as, “I’m sorry for the misunderstanding,” would have gone a long way. Customer service and clear communication matter. Unfortunately, this experience makes me hesitant to return. I took the package to another shipping store and was charged $30.
