- CCcheckmateMar 7, 20155.0REVISION: As of August 2017, I'm happy to report that the previous postmaster for this post office has been replaced, along with her co-worker, and things couldn't be better! I've had zero problems since these personnel changes have taken place, and I'm revising my review to a solid FIVE STARS! ************************************************************************ The two women who run this office are extremely rude and incompetent! About once a year, they deliver a package to me that was supposed to go to someone else. It makes me wonder where my packages are going! When I mentioned my concerns to one of them, she was extremely snotty, and told me if it goes to someone else and they don't bring it back, I have to file an insurance claim... like, "oh well". If a package comes from overseas and they don't like the way the address was written, they send it back, even though this is a small town and they know exactly who it's for. They told me they'll deliver it to me anyway, but only if I pay them $100 a year for my mail box. Since they don't deliver to most streets here, we're entitled to a free mail box, and shouldn't have to be extorted into paying them to deliver mail when it's their own delivery policies that are creating confusion in the first place. The USPS district office needs to clean house, get rid of these two bad apples with their rotten attitudes, and get some professionals in here to take over! I urge all citizens of Silverado who are fed up with the incompetence, rudeness, and lack of cooperation to write directly to the USPS district office and complain! What a difference! This place functions like a normal post office now. I sure don't miss the old postmaster, I**a! It's too early to tell yet, but I'd give them at least 4 stars now, and probably five.
