I finally understood why this USPS location has a 2.6/5 rating.
I came in to mail a small 2-lb package. Because I wanted to keep the box unsealed in case they needed to inspect it, I asked for USPS Ground. Then I was told that they “don’t provide tape” for Ground shipments, and if I wanted them to seal the box, I had to upgrade to Priority Mail — which costs over $3 more — just to get a piece of tape.
Both Ground and Priority were quoted as 3-day delivery. So the only difference was paying extra for the privilege of using a few inches of tape. I literally ended up being told to either buy a whole roll myself or pay more for a service I didn’t need.
It felt incredibly petty and customer-unfriendly. I’ve shipped at many USPS locations and have never encountered anything like this. Instead of helping customers, it felt like they were pushing me into a more expensive service for no reason.
I walked out with an entire roll of tape I never wanted — all because they wouldn’t offer even half a strip for a regular shipment. Absolutely unreasonable and deeply disappointing.

Even my estimated tax payment did not arrive. Luckily I discovered that birthday cards arrived, so I also made an online payment.
Apparently the San Jose Distribution Center only delivers mail, they don't send mail.
